Taylor Swift Lover Book Tag

Seeing as I’m a massive Taylor Swift fan and I clearly love reading I knew I had to take part in this book tag as soon as I saw it. I wasn’t actually tagged by anyone but it just looked fun so here we are.

There seems to be about 83 different Lover book tags floating around blogs at the moment (I mean it is an amazing album so why not). The one I’ve decided to do for this post is the one created by Nish and Ngoc. Although I might do another one at a later date, as they all seem so fun.

The Rules:

1) Link back to the original creator of the tag, Nish and Ngoc

2) Thank the person who tagged you and link to their post

3) TAG AS MANY SWIFTIES AS YOU WANT! (Or non-Swifties, maybe inspire them to listen to our Queen)

I Forgot That You Existed – A book you want to forget you ever read

“It isn’t love, it isn’t hate, it’s just indifference”

Reckon this might be a bit of an unpopular opinion within the book community, but I really hate The Fault In Our Stars by John Green and actually wish I could forget ever reading it. So that’s going to be my answer here, sorry to the fans I guess?

Cruel Summer – A book you turn to when the going gets rough

“Killing me slow, out the window. Always waiting for you to be waiting below.”

This may make very little sense as the book’s actually really upsetting but when I need a comfort read I tend to go for Wicked by Gregory Maguire. Why? I’m not quite sure and maybe I should try finding a comfort read that actually does make me happier. Please tell me if anyone has any suggestions?

Lover – Your book OTP

“Can I go where you go? Can we always be this close forever and ever?”

Evelyn Hugo and Celia St. James from The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. No other couple come close so don’t even try. If we’re being honest here I think a lot of the songs on the album have big Evelyn Hugo energy, this one among them.

The Man – Your fave kick-ass female protagonist

“I’m so sick of running as fast as I can. Wondering if I’d get there quicker if I was a man.”

Alanna of Trebond from The Song of the Lioness series by Tamora Pierce. She’s just so great, and the lyrics of the song definitely fit her character.

The Archer – A book with good mental health representation

All the king’s horses, all the king’s men couldn’t put me back together again. ‘Cause all of my enemies started out friends.”

Kinda struggling to come up with an answer here, but I think in Tower of Dawn Sarah J. Maas portrayed Chaol and Yrene’s traumas and how they coped with them quite well. Wouldn’t say it was necessarily say it was good representation but it’s closest I can think of really.

I Think He Knows – Your fave fictional crush

“I want you, bless my soul, and I ain’t gotta tell him, I think he knows”

To the surprise of literally no one who’s read any of my other tag posts I’m going to go with Morrigan from the A Court of Thorns and Roses series. I love her so much, and if you’re reading this SJMaas (as unlikely as that is) please give us a book from her POV soon.

Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince – Fave angsty romance

“It’s you and me, there’s nothing like this. Miss Americana and The Heartbreak Prince. We’re so sad, we paint the town blue. Voted most likely to run away with you.”

Okay so the only real answer to this is Jude and Cardan from The Folk of the Air series. The ultimate enemies to lovers to enemies couple. And who knows how they’re going to end up but I am truly living for their story.

Paper Rings – Book with an ugly cover that you absolutely adored

“I love shiny things but I’d marry you with paper rings”

I really love The Hunger Games but the first copies I read of the series were just so ugly, I mean just look at them. I lent Catching Fire to someone and never got it back and honestly I’m kinda glad.

Cornelia Street – A book or series you never want(ed) to end

“I hope I never lose you, hope it never ends”

A couple of years ago I probably would have said Harry Potter but now I kinda do want J.K. Rowing to just stop and leave it as it is, so instead I think I’m going to go with The Folk of the Air by Holly Black. I’m just not ready to say goodbye to these characters.

Death By A Thousand Cuts – A book or series that deserved a better ending

“I can’t pretend it’s okay when it’s not, it’s death by a thousand cuts”

For this one I’m going to say The Selection series, which should have just ended at the third book, instead of adding the next two books about America’s daughter.

London Boy – Your fave British male protagonist

“They say home is where the heart is, but God, I love the English”

Obviously Harry Potter. And is an explanation really needed?

Soon You’ll Get Better – A book you never recovered from

“This won’t go back to normal, if it ever was. It’s been years of hoping…”

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. That book is just a roller-coaster of emotions, and I genuinely start getting emotional whenever I think about it.

False God – A character you would leap into the burning pits of hell to save

“We were crazy to think, crazy to think that this could work. Remember how I said I’d die for you.”

Jem Carstairs. He’s so sweet and lovable. And also who wouldn’t go to hell to save someone who has an immortal cat. What’s church going to do if Jem dies? Go on tell me.

You Need To Calm Down – A book with a powerful message

“Say it in the street, that’s a knock out. But you say it in a Tweet, that’s a cop-out.”

Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan. There’s so many things I can say about this book, it’s just truly amazing. But I love the messages within it to, with how no matter what happens Lei doesn’t give up hope, and she never stops believing that she deserves better than being a Paper Girl.

Afterglow – A book you want to give a second chance

“Hey, it’s all me, in my head. I’m the one who burned us down. But it’s not what I meant. Sorry that I hurt you.”

Years ago I started reading Jane Eyre but never actually finished it so I’d quite like to go back and fully read it this time.

ME! – Best character development

“I’m the only one of me. Baby, that’s the fun of me.”

Going to have say Aelin Galathynius for this one. I just love how she goes from being this selfish assassin to being willing to sacrifice herself to save everyone.

It’s Nice To Have A Friend – Fave friends-to-lovers story

“School bells ring, walk me home…something gave you the nerve to touch my hand…Church bells ring, carry me home.”

Evelyn Hugo and Celia St. James. Again.

Daylight – If you could only read one book for the rest of your life what would it be?

“I don’t wanna look at anything else now that I saw you. I don’t wanna think of anything else now that I thought of you.”

This is the fourth time I’m mentioning it in this post but the answer for this just has to be The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. And if you haven’t read it then literally just stop whatever you’re doing and go read it.

Not really sure who to tag so if you want to take part in this tag then consider yourself tagged.

Thanks for reading and have a good day.

  1. Ahhhh thank you so much for doing our tag!! And we’re getting a bit of a theme here…should we read the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo? 🤔 Yes? No? Maybe? JUST KIDDING NGOC ALREADY HAS IT DOWNLOADED ON SCRIBD & PLANNING TO DIVE INTO IT REAL SOON!

Also 100000% yes to Jam Carstairs, either of us would be more than willing to trek through hell for him 😍
